Anniversary Celebration of the Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial Day

To solemnly celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence (America250), and to highlight the contributions of the American Chinese community to the nation’s development. We sincerely invite you to attend the anniversary celebration of the “Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial Day,” in recognition of your significant contributions.

At the initiative and proposal of New York City Council Member Susan Zhuang, and with the joint efforts of several prominent officials including State Assemblyman William Colton and his chief of staff Dr. Larry He, State Senate Education Committee Chairman John Liu, State Assembly Asian American Affairs Committee Chairman Grace Lee, State Senator Steve Chan, and State Assemblyman Lester Chang, New York City and the State of New York officially enacted legislation in May 2025 to designate May 10th as “Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial Day.” This designation honors the outstanding contributions of Chinese laborers to the construction of the American railway system and commemorates their historic achievements.This event will feature a grand exhibition titled “The Silent Spike: Tracing the Footsteps of Chinese Railway Workers,” inviting mainstream media from both China and the United States to report, jointly commemoratingThe promotion of the spirit of our predecessors holds both historical and contemporary significance. We sincerely invite your esteemed presence to guide us and join us in this grand occasion.

「鐵路華工紀念日」週年慶祝活動
為隆重迎接美國《獨立宣言》簽署250週年（America250）之歷史里程碑，彰顯亞商美國人對國家發展所作出
的重要貢獻，謹此誠摰邀請閣下撥冗蒞臨，出席「鐵路華工紀念日」週年慶祝活動。
承蒙紐約市議員莊文怡（Susan Zhuang）倡議並提案，並在州眾議員威廉寇頓 （William Colton）及其幕僚長（Larry He）賀立寧博士、州參議院教育委員會主席劉醇逸 （John Liu）、州眾議院亞裔事務委員會主席李榮恩（Grace Lee）、州參議員陳學理（Steve Chan）、州眾議員鄭永佳（Lester Chang）等多位政要共同推動下，紐約市及紐約州已在2025年5月正式立法，確立每年5月10日為「鐵路華工紀念日」，以表彰華工參與美國鐵路建設之卓越貢獻，並銘記其歷史功績。
本次活動將隆重展出《沉默的道釘：尋找鐵路華工的足跡》圖片展覽，並邀請中美主流媒體蒞臨報導，共同緬懷
先賢、弘揚精神，別具歷史與現實意義。屆時敬請閣下撥冗光臨，蒞臨指導，共襄盛舉。
